AMSTERDAM HALLOWEEN 2019 – A Japanese Horror Story

This year, the biggest Halloween Party of Amsterdam is taking place for the 11th time at the Westergasfabriek area. WesterUnie will be prepared for a Japanese Horror Story promoted by Amsterdam Halloween!

For the 11th edition we invited the Japanese malevolent Kuchisake Onna, well-known as “The Slit-Mouthed Woman”. Since the year 1200 she roams the streets of Japan, searching for her foes. She is one of the biggest fears amongst those dwelling in Japan and will be hanging around near Amsterdam during Halloween.

HOW TO GET THERE?

BY BIKE

 The Westergasterein is is easy to reach by bike. Around the venue there are enough spaces where you can place your bicycle. From the city center it will take you around 15 minutes to reach the venue.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

From the city center you can take Tram 10 to the stop at Van Hallstraat. From there it is a 4 minute walk to the venue. If you come from Centraal Station or Sloterdijk station you can take bus 21 and also get out at Van Hallstraat.

BY CAR

If you come to the event by car, please be aware that it is not possible to enter the venue area by car. From the nearest parking area it is a 5 minute walk to the entrance. There is a large Q-park parking garage outside of the Westergasterein which is open 24 hours.

This year we have the 11th edition of the Amsterdam Halloween Party at the Westergasfabriek area. It can rightfully call itself Hollands #1 Halloween event. A unique Halloween event where 100% of visitors are dressed up in spectaculair outfits, which makes for a unique party at the rooms of WesterUnie.

We invited the Japanese malevolent Kuchisake Onna, well-known as “The Slit-Mouthed Woman”. Since the year 1200 she roams the streets of Japan, searching for her foes. She is one of the biggest fears amongst those dwelling in Japan and will be hanging around near Amsterdam during Halloween.

We warn you, An outfit within our Japanese horror theme is required to survive this horrible night, otherwise Kuchisake Onna will find you! She will take out her long pair of scissors and either murder you or slit your mouth from ear to ear. After a meeting with Kuchisake Onna and losing some colleagues we gathered some small outfit tips;

  • 雪女 -The “snow woman”, the beautiful ruthless killer
  • 二口女 – “Two-mouth woman”, The completely ravenous woman who eats with her hairly tendrils.
  • 鬼 – “The Japanese Demons” , In general, they’re ugly, large and have claws and horns.
  • 赤マント “Red Cloak”, the masked guy who kill people on toilets

DATE & LOCATION

Amsterdam Halloween takes place on October 26 at WesterUnie at the Westergasterein in Amsterdam Westerpark.

IS THERE A PARADE?

No, there will be no Halloween Parade trough the city of Amsterdam this year.

What is the minimum age

18 years…so about to turn 18 doesn’t count. You may be asked to show your ID

WHAT IS THE DRESSCODE

We have a very strict dresscode. I you are not dressed up you will not get in to the event. This year our theme is a Japanese Horror Story. All Japenese horror legends are welcome to join the party. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram for outfit tips.

ATM & TOKENS

You need special coins at the festival. These coins are for sale at different points across the event area. The tokens can be paid for cash, debit and credit card.

ARE DRUGS ALLOWED?

Amsterdam Halloween upholds a zero tolerance  drugs policy, which means that neither hard drugs nor soft drugs are allowed at the festival.

ARE THERE LOCKERS AVAILABLE?

There are lockers at the entrance. You can easily and safely store your belongings there, and won’t have to worry about them while enjoying your day.

AM I ALLOWED TO BRING MY CAMERA ALONG?

You will be allowed to bring non-professional cameras into the event. You must obtain permission to bring a professional camera (please get in touch with info@amsterdamhalloween.nl) into the event.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD OR DRINKS?

No. It is forbidden to bring food or drinks in, but there is no need for that because you will be able to buy different types of food and drinks from a variety of concessions that will be available on site. No exception possible. 

I CAN'T FIND MY TICKET CONFIRMATION EMAIL

Please email tickets@sollidd.com from the email address you purchased your tickets with, and include proof of payment. If you are emailing from a different email address than that used to purchase the tickets, include the address used to purchase the tickets as well.

I AM HAVING TROUBLE DOWNLOADING MY TICKET FROM THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

This could be because the link in your email was broken. To fix this problem, follow the below steps:

      • Copy the first part of the link (blue) and paste it in your address bar (from https..)
      • Copy the second part of the link (black) and paste it behind the first part in the address bar (ends at …lang=)
      • Press enter and the download page will open

If you are still having problems downloading your ticket, please mail to tickets@sollidd.com.

MY TICKET ARE LOST OR STOLEN. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We’re sorry to hear this, but unfortunately we won’t be able to assist you. We advise you to reprint your ticket and arrive at the event as early as possible as tickets are only valid for a single entry and you can still gain entry to the event if the stolen/lost ticket hasn’t been used. 

I HAVE PAID FOR MY TICKETS BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It can take up to 30 minutes to receive a confirmation. Please check your Spam Folder if you still did not receive a confirmation. You can contact tickets@sollidd.com if you did not receive a confirmation. The confirmation is not relevant any more when you have downloaded your tickets already.

CAN I SHOW MY E-TICKET ON MY PHONE?

Yes! E-tickets are mobile. If you own a smartphone such as an iPhone or Android device which is capable of opening a pdf file, then you will be able to show your ticket on your phone. Keep in mind that mobile reception may be weak due to the large crowd, so please download your e-ticket in advance.

CAN I CANCEL OR RETURN THE TICKET?

No, purchased tickets are non-refundable.

IS THERE RE-ENTRY?

Amsterdam Halloween operates a strict no re-entry policy.
